THE WILL TO WALK FOUNDATION
About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The Will to Walk foundation is about family and
community. Our mission is to become a beacon of
hope and support for individuals and families who
have suffered and live with traumatic spinal cord
injuries. The foundation was established to not only offset
the enormous medical costs associated with Kamil’s
injury, but to provide emotional and financial
support to others in the state of New Jersey who
have suffered similar spinal cord injuries. We want those that suffered
severe spinal cord injuries to thrive, not just survive. Our intention is
to provide not only financial assistance to those in
need, but also to provide advice, emotional
support, and learnings to help navigate through the
journey of life after a spinal cord injury.

Our Story
The inception of The Will To Walk Foundation stems from a deeply personal narrative, ignited by the harrowing experience of an 18-year-old boy named Kamil Nowak who endured a life-altering car accident. This young man's journey was marked by the shattering impact of a spinal cord injury, compounded by broken ribs, a fractured arm, and a punctured lung, rendering him paraplegic in an instant. Despite the devastating blow, his spirit remained unbroken, fueled by an indomitable will to reclaim his mobility and independence. Through hard rehabilitation and unwavering determination, he embarked on a courageous quest to defy the limitations imposed by his injuries. His resilience and perseverance not only inspired those around him but also sparked the creation of The Will To Walk Foundation—a beacon of hope born from one individual's remarkable journey of triumph over adversity. Today, the foundation stands as a testament to the power of resilience, dedicated to empowering others facing similar challenges to walk their own path of recovery with strength, support, and unwavering determination.
